Actress Bhumi Pednekar marked her mother, Sumitra Hooda Pednekar’s 70th birthday in the most special manner. On Tuesday, January 21, she took to her Instagram account to share some rare glimpses with her mother from over the years, which definitely put a smile on our faces. Along with the pictures, Bhumi also penned a sweet note for her mother, expressing her love and gratitude.
The Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress’ post opened with a picture, where she could be seen planting a kiss on her mother’s forehead. In a video, the mother-daughter duo was seen sharing a warm hug, followed by the two breaking into dance. The Badhai Do actress also looked back at her childhood on the special day.

In several glimpses, a little Bhumi could be seen adorably sitting on her mother’s lap. Her Instagram carousel also featured a vintage video, showcasing a candid moment of the mother-daughter. Up next were some snaps of Bhumi with her mom and sister, Samiksha Pednekar. She concluded her post by sharing some rare, beautiful solo portraits of her mother.
In the caption, Bhumi wrote, “Happy Birthday Maa. 70th birthday of the woman that taught us how to love, be kind, have faith, believe in miracles, be your own self and never let anybody make you feel lesser.” She continued, “You are our reason to strive big in life even though the smallest pleasures make you happy. Aur kuch nahi karna bas Mummy ko khush rakhna hai. You are our light. Your resilience, courage and wisdom is so deeply embedded in us. Thank you for being you.”

Speaking of Bhumi’s professional front, the 35-year-old actress was last seen in the film Bhakshak. Directed by Pulkit, the crime drama revolved around the Muzaffarpur shelter case and featured actors like Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar. The film was released on Netflix in February last year. Currently, Bhumi has three releases in 2025. In February, her film titled Mere Husband Ki Biwi will be released in theatres, followed by the web shows Daldal and The Royals.
