Jeremy Doku picked Eden Hazard over Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, naming the player he would like to watch again play. The Manchester City star recently sat for an interview with Sky Sports where he was asked to rank Ronaldo, Messi and Hazard. Doku was quick to put Messi on the top of his list.

He, however, struggled to choose between the other two players. Doku admitted that Ronaldo should be kept in the second spot in terms of records and statistics. But the 20-year-old winger seemed to have a special place for Hazard in his heart.

“As a player that I like to watch, it’s Eden because of his way of playing. But for the career that he has had and the longevity, I have to put Ronaldo second. I’ll put Eden third but who would I like to watch play again? I’ll say, Eden,” Doku told Sky Sports, as per The Chelsea Chronicles.

Thanks to his dribbling ability, skills and agility, Eden Hazard has inspired many emerging footballers over the years. Despite playing in the era of Messi and Ronaldo, the former Chelsea man was able to build a unique identity.

As part of the Belgium national team, Doku shared the pitch with Hazard in three matches. The 34-year-old announced his retirement from professional football in 2023. During the interview with Sky Sports, Doku was asked if Hazard somehow influenced his game.

The youngster said, “No, I’ve not modelled my game on him but I like to watch him. Obviously, I like to watch him. He’s Belgian as well, and we play the same position, but we have different types of qualities. He’s a dribbler and I’m a dribbler so I like to watch him a lot.”

Doku started for Manchester City for the first time in nearly a month in the last Premier League game against Ipswich Town. He replaced an out-of-form Savinho on the left flank. The young winger controlled the game exceptionally. Doku even scored a goal in the second half as Pep Guardiola’s side registered a dominant 4-0 win in the away fixture.
