Publisher Earnings Guide

How Publishing & Earnings Work on ShortNews365

A complete, transparent guide for independent, small, mid-size, and large publishers of Magazines, e-Newspapers, Current Affairs & Comics.

Introduction

ShortNews365 is more than a news-summary platform—it's also a powerful distribution and earning platform for publishers who create Magazines, e-Newspapers, Current Affairs booklets, and Comics (all genres).

Whether you're an independent creator, a retro comics publisher, a modern comics creator, a regional newspaper, or a professional magazine publisher, ShortNews365 gives you a fair, transparent, and predictable earning system.

You can earn through two revenue models:

SNP Model (Share-and-Pool Model)

Pay-Per-Cost Model (Fixed Price Model)

The SNP Model runs on three separate earning pools, designed and maintained by ShortNews365 for fairness:

Premium Pool → Earned from Premium Membership revenues

Ad Pool → Earned from Rewarded Ads (Watch-With-Ad content)

Free Pool → 5% allocated from both Premium + Ad pools combined for users accessing free trials or daily free reads

Both earning models come with benefits, dashboards, analytics, and full transparency.

Revenue Model 1: SNP Model (Share-and-Pool Model)

Under SNP, ShortNews365 divides revenue into three separate earning pools:

1. Premium Pool

Money collected from Premium Memberships is placed into this pool.

2. Ad Pool

Rewarded ads watched by users generate revenue that goes into this pool.

3. Free Pool

5% of both Premium Pool + Ad Pool combined is kept aside here.
This pool pays publishers when:

a user uses a 7-day free trial

a non-member opens 1 free content per day

any other promotional free access is used

Your earnings depend on:

Type of user (Premium, Non-Premium, Free-Trial)

Type of content (Premium, Watch-With-Ad)

Which pool applies (Premium, Ad, or Free)

Category Weight (Magazines, eNewspapers, Comics, Current Affairs)

Content View Count Share

📌 How the SNP Calculation Works (Simplified)

SNP Formula:

Publisher Earning = (Pool Amount × Category Weight × Publisher’s View Share)

📘 Category Weights (example values)

CategoryWeight
Magazine1.0
e-Newspaper0.8
Comics0.6
Current Affairs0.5

(These are internal weightings to balance fairness across content types.)

📚 SNP Examples for Every Scenario

Below are simple real-world examples so any publisher can understand exactly how they earn.

Scenario 1: Non-Premium User → Watches Watch-With-Ad Content

Pool Used: Ad Pool

Example:

Total Ad Pool this month = ₹1,00,000

Category Weight for Comics = 0.6

Total “Watch-With-Ad” views in Comics = 200,000 views

Your Comic got 10,000 views

Your share: 10,000 / 200,000 = 5% share
Earning: ₹1,00,000 × 0.6 × 0.05 = ₹3,000

Scenario 2: Premium User → Reads Premium Content

Pool Used: Premium Pool

Example:

Premium Pool = ₹80,000

Your Magazine Weight = 1.0

Total Premium Magazine Views = 100,000

Your Magazine Views = 4,000

Your share: 4,000 / 100,000 = 4%

Earning: ₹80,000 × 1.0 × 0.04 = ₹3,200

Scenario 3: Free-Trial User → Reads Premium Content

Pool Used: Free Pool

Example:

Free Pool = ₹9,000

Weight for e-Newspaper = 0.8

Total Free e-Newspaper Views = 50,000

Your Newspaper got 5,000 views

Your share: 5,000 / 50,000 = 10%

Earning: ₹9,000 × 0.8 × 0.10 = ₹720

🔥 Scenario 4 (New Special Case): Premium User → Watches Watch-With-Ad Content

📌 Pool Used: Premium Pool (NOT Ad Pool)

Premium users do not watch ads.
So their contribution still comes from the Premium Pool, but with a reduced weight to keep fairness with both publishers & the Ad Pool.

Why reduced weight?

Because this content is primarily meant to be supported by ads.
Premium users skip ads → so the value for this view is naturally lower.

Example reduced weight (configurable):
👉 Weight for this scenario = 0.5 × category weight

Example:

Premium Pool = ₹80,000

Content Type = Watch-With-Ad Comic

Base Comic Weight = 0.6

Adjusted Weight for Premium Users = 0.6 × 0.5 = 0.3

Total Premium views (for this type) = 40,000

Your views = 2,000

Your share = 2,000 / 40,000 = 5%

Earning: ₹80,000 × 0.3 × 0.05 = ₹1,200

✔ Fair for premium users
✔ Fair for publishers
✔ No ad revenue misalignment

Revenue Model 2: Pay-Per-Cost (Fixed Price Model)

Some publishers prefer fixed pricing instead of pooled earnings.

How It Works

Publisher selects a fixed selling price from a dropdown

~25–30 standard price options available

Higher custom price (in ₹10–₹100 steps) can be approved on request

This avoids complex setup in Google Play Console

Ensures consistent pricing & easier management

Final Earnings You Receive

You can change the price anytime.
